ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Ragnar Jonsson is an Atlantic artist who enjoys working with oil paints and acrylics. His landscape paintings blend rich earth tone colors together with ocean blues to reflect the rugged yet peaceful coastline of Nova Scotia.

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Ragnar Jonsson immigrated to Canada with his family in 1965. As a first generation Icelandic Canadian, his interest in art was influenced by his long family heritage and the beautiful landscape and culture of Nova Scotia. He never pursed his interest with formal art training, rather attended Dalhousie University and received a business degree. Having spent many years as a self employed restaurateur, the opportunity to combine his love of art and his business skills presented itself and seemed an enjoyable and logical business venture. To that end he decided to create AtlanticArt.ca, a virtual gallery that sells and showcases his and other Atlantic Artists original acrylic, oil and watercolor prints and paintings. The site is meant to present to the world the creativity of east coast artists and inspire new artists to express themselves through art.

Did Robert Bateman really confuse the public when he mechanically copied his paintings back in 1977 or did he open a new market for lower cost quality prints?

Here's what I think.
